What is Shalom Home@Home?
Home@Home is a group of approximately six people who meet every week for a bit of adventure and a lot of fun. And JewishCare WA is looking for participants!
The group chooses what they would like to do every week. Examples from other Home@Home groups include:
- Cinema outings
- Creative projects
- Cafe outings
- Staying in for games and cake
- Arts & Crafts
JewishCare WA is currently looking for new members to joins its Home@Home program. If you are interested in joining, or know someone who would benefit from the program, please contact JewishCare WA.
Spaces are limited so please get in touch as soon as possible.
Who Can Join?
Home@Home is a government funded program for seniors who live at home. Anyone who is interested in joining must undergo an assessment by Home and Community Care (HACC).
The assessment is simple and does not take long.
Each week participants meet at a designated communal space. This may be a participant’s home or elsewhere. The designated space may change every week.
The people who facilitate the program set things up and clean up thoroughly afterwards. So if you do decide to volunteer your home for a session, you do not need to worry about extra work.
A small fee is charged for each session. Please contact JewishCare WA to find out more about this cost.
Participants are picked up from their homes and dropped at a designated meeting place. After the session, participants are taken home.
Who runs Home @ Home?
Umbrella Multicultural Community Care Services and JewishCare WA operate the Home@Home program.
Trained staff from both organisations factilitate the program to ensure the needs of participants are met.
